任务
此次会议旨在把创业介绍给中国在校学生,并使他们受到启示,从而进一步搭建北京高校。
Introduction
Stanford University is well known for its spirit of entrepreneurship, having produced such companies as Google, Sun Microsystems, Cisco, and Yahoo. Numerous student organizations at Stanford reflect this spirit, and both resources and opportunities are available to aspiring entrepreneurs.
The scene in China is much younger; there is no equivalent of Silicon Valley to act as the gathering point of China's technical talent, entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists. Although the environment is slowly changing, the smartest college students in China still by-and-large prefer to work after graduation for large companies with prestige attached; there is little motive to enter a small start-up that may or may not succeed, and which may or may not pay the bills. Traditional-minded parents, as well as a scarcity of home-grown startup success stories, both contribute to a relative aversion to high-risk ventures. As a result, expats and returnees have historically driven much of the start-up business in China.
Increasingly, though, as China's economy jumps forward, there is growing interest in entrepreneurship among local Chinese college students. We want to take advantage of this growth and help the students form stronger networks, find more resources, and gain more hands-on experience.
